Sr. Human Resources Business Partner - Operations (Union City)

Description
The Sr. HRBP will act as a trusted advisor; proactively engaging with program leadership to influence and positively
impact the organization by identifying resources and formulating/presenting actionable recommendations/options for
leadership consideration. This position provides leaders with coaching, consultation, and guidance regarding effective
management of people, structure, organization effectiveness, and workforce planning. Additionally, key responsibilities
will include partnerships with relevant HR Centers of Excellence subject matter experts in designing and delivering innovative
HR solutions in core areas to include the following: Total Rewards and Performance Management, Talent Management and
Development, Staffing/Workforce Strategy, Diversity and Inclusion, Employee/Labor Relations and Investigations, Leave and
Benefit Administration, and Compensation.

Specific to the unionized workforce, the Sr. HR Business Partner will work in partnership with the Employee/Labor Relations
COE, to include, but is not limited to the following:
Provide day to day employee and labor relations support to ensure proper handling of various issues; escalate complex
employee and labor relations issues to the COE for handling
Assist in resolving, coaching and guiding managers through employee/labor relations issues in partnership with the COE
Establish and maintain effective relations with labor organizations that represent employees, administer labor agreements,
and confer with labor unions on behalf of the company in partnership with the COE
Provide employee/labor relations training to field managers as directed by the COE
Participate in Joint Labor Management Council Meetings in partnership with the COE
Resolve grievances between the grieving employee/union and the company in partnership with the COE
Carry out reductions in force and terminations in partnership with the COE
Performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions via corrective action/performance management in accordance
with company polices, CBA and ABC compliance led by Employee/Labor Relations Business Partner in partnership with HRBP
Other duties as assigned

using analytics and insights based on analytics along with sound business acumen
Unionized Workforce: Experience working in a unionized workforce, teamsters preferred
Must demonstrate strong decision making and judgment, oral and written communication, business acumen skills
Proven success in implementing core talent management processes
Demonstrated ability to execute quickly, effectively and consistently
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required
Confidence interacting with senior/executive leadership
The successful candidate will consult with leadership, employees, and cross-functional groups to solve complex organizational
challenges, and be an integral part of the client's leadership team

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, HR or related field
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in delivering strategic HR methodology, employee/labor relations
within a unionized workforce, teamsters preferred
Strong Communication, Presentation, Facilitation and Negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects through full lifecycle (design, develop, implement)
and deliver impactful results
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills with the ability to adjust style as needed to develop effective relationships
with all levels of leadership, employees and peers locally and virtually
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to analyze metrics
Ability to travel to other geographic sites within the Western United States as needed – travel 5-10%
