2021 Summer Internship | Sales Trainee - Northern California

Job Description

The Sales Representative Trainee is responsible for developing and managing moderately complex accounts primarily containing greater than 70 SKU’s.  This moderately influential sales role will develop strong customer relationships; identify and source new revenue opportunities to meet assigned sales goals. 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Sales Representative Trainee is responsible for training on the following:
  • Preplan all programs by account for daily, weekly, and monthly success
  • Properly maintain fact/pitch book, records, P.O.S., and sales bag at all times
  • Make all accounts on a regularly assigned basis, following SGWS 8 steps to a call
  • Transmit all orders to office in a timely manner
  • Merchandise all stores to SGWS and supplier partner standards
  • Consistently work to build and maintain solid business relationships with accounts
  • Strive to improve personal and professional development through GBA constantly, and other educational means as they come available
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on restaurants, bars, nightclubs to present the Company’s products for considered placements
  • Inform customers of supply and price trends and keeps informed on new products and other general information of interest to customers
  • Develop and prospect new accounts through cold calls
  • Develop a tabletop list featuring Company’s product to aid customers in making selections and replaces or refurbishes tabletop lists as needed
  • Schedule and attend taste tests to promote company products
  • Train with wait staff on features and new items to grow sales
  • Handle all customer’s problems and complaints
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and three years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated communication skills necessary to effectively present and persuade customers to purchase Glazer’s products
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to secure and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto-liability insurance in accordance with state laws
  • Ability to secure and maintain a State Sales Permit in accordance with state laws
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions 
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills
  • Experience with adult beverage product sales or in the hospitality industry
  • May involve evening and occasional weekend scheduling during special promotions and/or working with suppliers
Physical Demands
  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
