Regional Talent Management Director, CPWS/NASWB - West Region

BASIC SUMMARY:
Lead the strategic and tactical talent management initiatives and processes in our west Coastal Pacific Wine and Spirits/North American Spirits and Wine Brokerage (CPWS/NASWB) region. Serve as the enabler and coach to the management team on all talent management efforts. Embed talent management best practices that attract and retain talented, diverse and engaged workforce to improve business results. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related strategies and acts as an employee champion and change agent. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the CPWS/NASWB business strategy.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the talent management process to evaluate employees and conduct talent gap analysis against strategic business needs.
  • Conduct talent assessment for assigned population to identify high potentials and provide developmental opportunities for career growth.
  • Lead the planning and execution of the talent review process including coordination of pre\-work and post\-review analysis, identification of key insights/trends, monitoring/supporting action plans.
  • Ensure succession management plans and strategies are in place to maintain healthy talent pipelines to meet current and future business needs.
  • Maintain database of talent information, coordinate with management teams, participate in key talent review meetings, and oversee strategies to accelerate development of key talent and successor candidates.
  • Oversee implementation and management of talent development solutions such as executive coaching and mentorship.
  • Provide strategic consultation, advice and support on leveraging talent management resources and employee talent management programs including goal management, 360 feedback, career and individual development training.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with regional and state HR and COEs to deliver support to executive management teams, individual employees and managers.
  • Collaborate with learning and development to identify and provide job and learning experiences needed to develop our talent.
  • Provide change management and project management support to the region to ensure successful cultural changes with regards to diversity and inclusion strategies.
  • Develops and implements metrics to assess and monitor the effectiveness of the divisional Talent Management initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the business and the organization.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of human capital programs to ensure success.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Acts as a member of the leadership team and shares the responsibility for achieving key business objectives through the development and implementation of programs and practices within the business unit that achieve results.
  • Acts as coach and confidential advisor to the executive in charge of the division along with other business leaders, providing feedback on style and environmental concerns observed within the division.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development or related field required. Master’s Degree and/or continuing education in the field of Human Resources desired,PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 -7 years of experience in multiple disciplines of Talent Management; Organizational Development, Training & Development, or Human Resources. Thorough knowledge of related HR laws and regulations as well as legal compliance requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Solid knowledge of HR and Talent Management theory and application.
  • Organizational development knowledge to implement and monitor the regions employee development strategies.
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify what employees need to learn for successful individual and organizational performance.
SKILLS:
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to work in a fast paced environment and to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationship and work closely and collaboratively with regional HR partners, senior management, business executives and leaders at all levels within the company to address complex, interdependent issues, needs and priorities.
  • Excellent project management skills to effectively managing multiple projects/process improvement initiatives concurrently and achieving deliverables tied to business strategies.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, and confidence.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills be able to lead a team to make intelligent trade-offs in ambiguous situations
ABILITIES:
  • Ability to make well-reasoned and timely decisions based on careful, objective review and informed analysis of available considerations and factors.
  • Ability to support decisions or recommendations with accurate information or reasoning.
  • Ability to coach management on creating quantifiable objectives for closing gaps.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization - formally and informally.
  • Ability to navigate successfully in a heavily matrixed organization.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.
