Sr. Director, Talent Development

The Sr. Director, Talent Development partners with senior business leaders, HRVPs and HR Centers of Excellence to understand the business strategy and build an innovative, best-in-class talent development strategy and roadmap for SGWS. Leads the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of Talent Development (TD) programs including functional development, product/category education, technical skills, etc. Uses data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and direct an experienced, resourceful, proactive and solution-oriented talent development team; providing guidance and development to the team to execute against objectives and adjust to shifting organizational priorities
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve upon company-wide talent development strategies and programs to build capabilities and meet organizational objectives
  • Consult with HR leads, Org Effectiveness colleagues, business leads and other key stakeholders to assess current programs and talent development needs for each line of business
  • Develop and deploy new and innovative solutions and programs designed to continually enhance the knowledge, capabilities and growth of employees
  • Design, lead, and implement talent development strategies and effective capability building programs across the company that drive the overall business strategic objectives
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that talent development initiatives are aligned with individual, team and organizational needs
  • Identify and prioritize mission critical knowledge, capabilities and skills gaps through ongoing needs assessments
  • Partners with People Analytics to create and monitor key measures of success for all talent development programs and solutions and puts in place plans for continuous improvement based on feedback mechanisms, testing, competency evaluation and ongoing analysis of key metrics
  • Forecasts, monitors, and manages Talent Development national and regional budgets
  • In partnership with Organization Effectiveness Innovation team and HRIS, identifies and implements the latest platforms to develop and deliver a robust learning experience for employees
  • Drives a culture of innovation within Talent Development team
  • Collaborates with external partners to ensure talent development offerings are developed and launched successfully, with a goal of best-in-class learning experiences
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends and benchmark data in order to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of talent development solutions and processes
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 10 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of experience managing exempt level employees
  • Proven consulting experience in working with executives and senior leaders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of designing and implementing organization-wide talent development processes and programs
  • Experience in a fast-paced growth-oriented business
  • Must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution
  • Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements
  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate the workload around multiple assignments
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and software applications related to job functions
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing the direction of projects and strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and can relate well to a variety of levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated understanding of instructional design process for both classroom and online training
  • Superior group facilitation and team intervention skills
  • Ability to work effectively across functions to achieve desired customer satisfaction goals
  • Ability to Travel: up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Leadership Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Organization Psychology or equivalent
  • Experience with implementing large-scale organization-wide talent development programs
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operating efficiencies and processes through effective team leadership across the organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 360, learning agility, EQ, and other assessment tools
  • Strong Change Management design and implementation experience
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential
  • Certification in OD related programs such as DiSC, Strength Finders, MBTI or Outlook
Physical Demands
  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
