Overview

The SFDC manager leads a team that builds solutions through application configuration, code development, and integration of data to improve the execution of business processes. This team focuses on the Salesforce.com platform including Sales, Service, Marketing, Communities Clouds. This role is responsible for overseeing the modification and implementation of application solutions to meet business needs and to achieve the desired business results with the lowest cost of ownership over time. This role is responsible to maintaining the operational excellence on all owned application. This individual identifies opportunities for improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and conceptualizing and building innovative solutions to help achieve business benefits. The role coordinates with architects, product owners, and other leaders within the IT and Business group as well to ensure holistic application solution designs that meet Southern Glazers’s best practices and business needs.

The SFDC manager serves as a mentor and coach for development professionals and is a key thought leader in the latest technologies and industry trends. This individual calibrates the capabilities of the existing team and assesses the need for change/improvement in the context of Southern Glazers’s future IT needs and makes timely, appropriate adjustments. This role is responsible for the development, retention and recruitment of a highly skilled professional team.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Strong leadership

· Strong operational excellence skills, demonstrated by establishing best practices and strive for optimal KPIs for delivery and support.

· Ability to conceive of and manage complex application development efforts to achieve desired business results

· Ability to create and monitor budgets and allocate resources effectively for maximum performance

· Ability to influence senior IT and business leaders

· Effective communication and decision-making skill

· Assist with the planning for application consolidation / retirement and future application/platform roadmaps

· Provide input to business relationship management teams regarding improvement goalsfor business divisions or functions that can be achieved with Salesforce.com solutions

· Identify opportunities for technology improvements, improved organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and innovative solutions to help achieve business benefits through Salesforce.com development

· Plan team’s work tasks and use resources efficiently and cost effectively

· Proactively work to reduce costs and improve productivity (continuous improvement)

· Create measures for successful execution, including application development standards, policies, processes, procedures and controls

· Plan and document succession planning within scope of responsibility

· Lead the team responsible for Salesforce.com application configuration, support, and development tasks, including creating prototypes, translating functional requirements into technical specifications for development, data mapping, function mapping, setting of development tables and setting of transaction/control tables,

· Coordinate with other leaders within the Solution Delivery group as well and other IT and business leaders to ensure holistic application solution designs to meet business needs

· Implement, enforce, and improve application development standards, processes, procedures and controls

· Ensure effective administration of, and compliance with, all internal processes, procedures and controls

· Ensure the team is diligent in creating thorough solution documentation that can be used as input into future development tasks and training

· Communicate effectively with IT and Business Unit management

· Stay current on emerging Salesforce application solution trends, technologies, and best practices

· Serve as an expert resource to IT and business leaders in the development of Salesforce.com solutions to meet business needs

· Recruit, hire, train and develop a high performing work team, encouraging excellence and building a team with exceptional technical talent

· Motivate team members to work collaboratively and effectively

· Mitigate team conflict and communication problems

· Effectively administer performance management systems and reviews

· Mentor and coach others

· Plan and document succession planning within scope of responsibility


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree Required (Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field)

· Note: Sufficient and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirements

· 10 or more years of work experience

· 5 or more years of work experience in IT

· 3 years of leadership experience managing application development teams

· Expertise in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise Salesforce.com solutions to achieve business results

Core Skills:

· Expertise in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining Salesfoce.com solutions to meet business / IT goals and objectives

· Extensive experience with application development through the full software development life cycle (SDLC)

· Excellent verbal / written communication skills (including strong skills with presentation tools)

· Excellent attention to detail

· Strong ability to analyze and solve problems (including strong skills with analytical tools)

· Strong team player who can work across multiple functions and disciplines

· Ability to influence senior and executive management

· Expertise in the evaluation of new technologies and tools

· Expertise in developing and leading a high-performance work team

Specialized Skills and Technologies:

· Technical leadership in multiple IT areas: application configuration, programming, support, User Interface design and deployment

· Good understanding of SOA concepts and principles, including API-based messaging and integration technology functions

· Programming education or experience

· Understanding of database functions; SQL experience a plus

· Capability to understand Southern Glazers’s application portfolio as well as how the different systems contribute to daily business operations

· Understanding of SFDC technologies with Apex, Lighting, Visual Force pages’ design, Triggers etc.

· SFDC certifications a plus

Travel Required

Domestic travel, up to 25%
