POSITION SUMMARY:
The Principal Analyst serves as a liaison between Business Units and the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) organization in order to provide data solutions to prioritized business needs. This position requires expertise in product lifecycle business processes, master data analyses and master data governance typically used in alcoholic beverage, consumer goods or other similar industries. This role will act as a functional lead while being assigned to projects with a matrixed organization structure that includes respective project managers, business and data analysts providing leadership and guidance to the project team to successfully complete deliverables.

The responsibilities for this role are:
Provide leadership and guidance to respective project managers, business and data analysts on assigned projects to ensure successful completion of BRD and data deliverables
Serve as liaison between Business Unit(s) and EDM on projects and enhancements
Identify challenges that hamper successful completion of projects and provide workable solutions to mitigate challenges
Perform root cause analyses of process & system problems pre and post implementation and for existing production processes & systems
Determine opportunities to redesign and automate business processes and functions to achieve better business results
Conduct requirements gathering sessions and translate high level business requirements into functional specifications
Create and maintain business processes, requirements (BRD), and functional specification documentation
Support the creation of test plans – especially User Acceptance Testing
Perform testing duties as needed, working with end users and project teams during the design, construction, testing and implementation of modifications to systems
Communicate systems and procedural changes to end users through excellent written and oral communications
Support the education and training of end users, working to increase end user proficiency and adoption of implemented solutions
Establish and maintain relationships with key Business Unit personnel
Research industry trends and best practices while remaining up-to-date on latest data management strategies and tools
Assist in maintaining master data governance processes from definition through execution and continuous improvement

Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems
Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
Strong time management skills (i.e. setting priorities)
Ability to lead and work within a team environment as well as independently
Expert understanding of software development cycle processes like traditional waterfall, Agile, etc.
Ability to deliver quality results on time
Ability to build consensus and buy-in with key stakeholders
Ability to think at varying levels, from high-level concepts to low-level details
Working knowledge of analytical tools like SQL/Alteryx/Excel or other relevant applications
Beverage or consumer package goods experience a plus

EDUCATION
Bachelor's or Technical Degree Required (computer science, mathematics, engineering, information systems, business administration or other industry related curriculum)
Graduate Degree Preferred
Note: Sufficient and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirements

EXPERIENCE
10 or more years of work experience, including relevant business and IT experience
