Logistics Analyst

The Logistics Analyst will actively participate in a team that handles a variety of logistics functions, which include transportation planning and strategy, expediting, negotiating and coordinating the purchase of logistics/transportation needs for our product from origin warehouses for our suppliers and subsidiaries in to our SGWS Destinations.

Duties and Responsibilities

-This role is responsible for coordinating with vendors, carriers, and TMC for the accuracy, availability, and order specifications to ensure that all goods and materials are delivered on site on time.

-Ability to prepare and analyze spreadsheets for upload to our transportation management system (TMC).

-Ability to prepare and analyze excel rate files to compare freight lanes and rates.

-Export and analyze data from TMC business intelligence tool for use in reporting of KPI’s for both carrier and supplier rankings and evaluations.

-Must have a complete understanding of Microsoft Excel and the other Office Suite software programs.

-Adapts quickly to software upgrades and/or system implementations.

-Evaluates/processes escalations and other issues as needed to work with the teams to resolve logistical issues thru the use of sharp problem solving and analytical skills.

- Maintain and upload of Certificates of Insurance and Carrier Contracts.

-Support day to day operations responsibilities including but not limited to:

oReview of open orders daily

oCollaborate with purchasing / warehouse teams for planning on a regular basis

oCalling to verify order specifications and warehouse shipping guidelines

oUpdate track and trace reporting for availability

oExperience working across departments in organizations

oPreparation of reports and presentations

o SAP Freight Accounting workflow maintenance

oTroubleshoot freight related invoice questions with our divisions and accounts payable teams


Minimum Qualifications

-Two to Four years Logistics Experiencein a fast-paced, high volume environment.

-Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to find creative solutions to problems.

-Candidate must possess knowledge of logistics and warehouse processes.

-Knowledge of:

oOver the Road Dispatching

oOcean Freight


o Intermodal Concepts

Preferred Qualifications

-Significant experience with and proficiency in as MS Outlook, Excel, and Word, PowerPoint, and Access.

-Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time with attention to detail and minimal supervision.

-Familiar with Rate Structure and Invoice Processing.

-Customer service experience with ability to work across diverse organization.

-Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

-Team player, energetic, motivated.
