Import Traffic Coordinator

Job Description

Position Summary:    Accurately process all traffic documentation, maintain spreadsheets as necessary, and contact assigned truckers, freight forwarders, steamship lines and supply chain partners as necessary to ensure that product is picked up timely and delivered to SGWS destination without incurring storage or demurrage charges.  Assist all other department members as needed or as assigned.  

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•    Ability to handle large volume of import shipments 
•    Follow up with all import shipments as required by the department
•    Comply with established company and department policy and procedures 
•    Maintain Track and Trace (TNT) spreadsheets by divisions as required
•    Prepare and maintain all payment records by division and vendor as required
•    Ability to prioritize and manage time sensitive tasks
•    Analyze, identify and provide solutions to day to day work related issues
•    Ability to work with a diverse team and aid team members
•    Perform additional duties as assigned
•    Minimum 40 hours per week requiring; Additional hours based on business need; Overtime must be approved by management



Minimum Qualifications & Skills Required:
•    Associates Degree or 2 years college education
•    5 years professional experience working in the supply chain industry 
•    Editrade/Descartes software knowledge preferred
•    5 years professional experience working with various ocean and freight forwarders / consolidators
•    Knowledge and experience with Pay Cargo and port portals (POMTOC, PEV, Maher Terminal) preferred
•    Strong understanding of supply chain requirements, processes, and tracking of import shipments
•    Microsoft Office proficiency required
•    Strong attention to detail and high level of data accuracy
•    Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
•    Must have effective interpersonal and customer service skills
