Compensation Manager

Description

The Compensation Manager will own the administration of various programs, proactively partner with the business to anticipate and address future needs, and manage compensation professionals. This role will liaise with all levels of management within the company in order to address compensation concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct and provide guidance and oversight to complex analyses conducted by compensation analysts; ensure all recommendations address stated business goals and are designed within the compensation philosophy of the company
  • Develop and deliver communications to proactively educate employees on new or revised programs
  • Own the administration of annual programs such as focal merit periods or bonus cycles; provide recommendations for enhancements as needed
  • Conduct the annual analysis of all pay structures
  • Provide guidance and feedback to direct reports as they conduct the job analysis and job documentation processes
  • Conduct market pricing; perform equity analyses
  • Advise on compensation issues to ensure consistency across the organizations
  • Cultivate relationships with the HR Business Partners so as to collaborate proactively on all compensation related issues; develop resolutions to address concerns
  • Remain current on best practices and trends in the workforce
  • Develop and document procedures to streamline processes
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in HR, Finance, or related field plus 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal labor law
  • Demonstrated knowledge of core HR practices and principles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, timely and within expected standards
  • Proficiency with software applications including MS Outlook, Power Point, Excel, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to present sound and reasonable arguments to persuade people in a way that results in agreement or behavior change
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people at all levels in the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCP Certification

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
