Analyst I, MDM

The EDM, Analyst is responsible for the execution of MDM operational processes and the support of data policies and procedures. The position contributes to SGWS success by applying knowledge of Master Data Management Processes and Standards in order to maintain and improve master data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. The primary responsibility is to assist in the continuous improvement of obtaining, retaining and maintaining master data in the most efficient, accurate and effective manner for operations and reporting.
The responsibilities for this role are:
  • The EDM, Analyst will function as the primary point of contact related to the day-to-day execution of MDM related service tasks. They will work to answer questions, resolve data issues and provide analysis.
  • Management and maintenance of master data across lines of business to support MDM goals and objectives
  • Performs Master Data additions, changes, and deletions in accordance to standard procedures and business rules
  • Ensures requests for master data maintenance are properly authorized/approved by working with appropriate data stewards and data owners
  • Analyzes data issues and develops solutions to address
  • Educates clients on master data processes and business rules
  • Maintains master data intake repository
  • Maintains required audit-related documentation
  • Responds to Master Data information requests
  • Generates and records ideas for improvement (e.g. integrity checks, maintenance processes, metadata, services)
  • Work with Data Stewards on defining the terms in the Enterprise Glossary and Data dictionary
  • Work across teams to investigate data related issues, seeking to provide a timely and productive solutions.
  • Works with other IT teams to investigate data-related problems in down-stream applications
  • Translates customer requests into actionable tasks (i.e. works with the customer to clarify and define requests)
  • Delivers service in accordance with established SLAs or negotiates service delivery if outside SLA
  • Escalates issues before impacting the programs or other site teams
  • Corrects data flagged on data integrity reports/dashboards
  • Drives adoption of MDM Platform with the help of the Data Stewards
    Works proactively with business stakeholders to resolve discovered data issues

  • Strong background in technology including understanding of technology architecture and strategy and good numerical analytical ability
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel
  • Demonstrates competency in: understanding and correcting data discrepancies; reading and translating data models; data querying; identifying data anomalies and root cause analysis; understanding and capability to explain Master Data Management.
  • Experience in database architecture, schemas
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and the ability to query relational databases.
  • Able to make decisions and negotiate effectively

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral

  • Demonstrated ability to work across products, regions and functions, preferably in the financial services industry and / or management consulting
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Handle multiple concurrent tasks and learn new business systems quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Should be a quick learner and self-motivated.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Finance or related area or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience
    1+ combined business process, Data management, BI
