Accounting Manager

This position is responsible for overseeing the day to day duties and responsibilities of the accounts payable department to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.This includes both daily/weekly processes and procedures as well as monthly financial close general ledger review.


  • Monitors and analyzes Accounts Payable department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining accuracy

  • Ensure completion and accuracy of coding/processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reports, including approvals and adherence to corporate guidelines

  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures ensuring proper controls and compliance to corporate, federal, and state rules and regulations

  • Review process and invoices for Third Party Vendors and new vendors; maintains an approved vendor list

  • Review and Monitor Charitable donations process

  • Manage Fixed Asset requests and ensure adherence to corporate guidelines and policies; owns accounting for capital spends

  • Manage Concur system and monitor and review expense report process; manages Corporate American Express Meal’s, Entertain and Travel card program

  • Review general ledger for discrepancies and prepare correcting entries as needed

  • Assist in monthly closing processes and ensure timely closes including preparation of monthly Financial Statements and Analytical Reviews

  • Verifies the accuracy of corporate reporting requests, including fixed asset reporting, GL reconciliations, and other requests

  • Works with Corporate Accounting and outside auditors as needed

  • Prepares job descriptions, performs annual performance reviews and recommends salary levels for staff

  • Support Finance Leadership Team with special projects and other ad hoc requirements

  • Performs other Accounting duties as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or 5 years’ experience in accounting/finance related field

  • Prior supervisory experience

  • Reconciliation experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and written, with others

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrate ability to perform job duties with minimum supervision

  • Intermediate Excel Skills


  • CPA

  • Strong organizational skills with theabilityto balance multiple priorities

  • Self-starter, who takes initiative and demonstrates ownership until work is completed

  • 3 years supervisory experience

  • Experience with AS400

  • Experience with SAP accounting software or another large ERP system

  • Experience with fixed asset management and tracking

  • Advanced Excel skills, including work with pivot tables, v-lookups and other formulas
