DESCRIPTION
Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits of America, founded in 1968, is the largest distributor of Wine and Spirits in the United States,
currently in 44 US markets, the District of Columbia, Canada, and the Caribbean. We are looking to add an experienced Category
Space Intelligence Manager to our team in West Division.
CUSTOMER DEVELOPMENT & SPACE INTELLIGENCE TEAM
The Customer Development & Space Intelligence Team supports Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits internal and external customers
with category space management, intelligence initiatives and key responsibilities as outlined below.
BASIC FUNCTION
The Space Intelligence Manager is required to use and evaluate all available data and make fact-based schematic
recommendations to internal and external customers. Areas of focus will consist of maintaining databases, building schematics,
and working in the Citrix environment to utilize various software programs and files. This position requires proficiency in Data &
Knowledge Management, Retail Pricing & Promotion, and Shopper Marketing. The manager position reports to the Director,
Space Intelligence. No direct reports.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Propose Schematic Recommendations using syndicated and retailer POS sales, inventory, and schematic information to
identify customer-centric growth opportunities.
Cloud Environment: Gain proficiency in the SGWS Citrix server environment to access storage, data transfer, JDA &
Microsoft software programs, and multiple proprietary tools to build the most profitable schematics for retailer consideration.
Work in Retail Accounts to capture the department layout, fixture dimensions, and scan the product assortment.
Update Product Specs (images, dimensions, weights, and classifications) accurately and input into databases to populate
shelf schematics.
Merchandising Rules: Update section flow and merchandising rules to support schematic recommendations consistent with
retailer merchandising standards.
Assortment Building: Evaluate product marketplace performance based on retailer POS data, syndicated marketplace data,
internal depletions, and consumer panel insights.
Schematic Validation: Compare various set recommendations to ensure marketplace opportunities are identified and
product assortment optimizes retailer potential.
Reset Execution directing sales and merchandisers, including competitor personnel in a professional manner; communicating
with store directors and dept. managers to insure minimal disruption to store operations.
Reset Analysis: Use POS and inventory data to evaluate execution and quantify sales and profit impact.
Support Sales Initiatives: Support sales teams through market insights, innovation product distribution, conducting retailer
business reviews, and ad hoc reports.
Accountability: Manage deliverables to stakeholders in a timely manner with thorough process documentation.
Customer Presentations: Create and deliver presentations to retail buyers and suppliers showcasing the Space Operations
& Customer Development Team expertise in data analysis, market knowledge, and profit optimization.
Ecosystem: Participate fully in the community of SGWS space management, trade development personnel and business partners
to promote collaboration and best practices.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications

Category Management experience desirable, preferably in beverage alcohol.
Technical skill in any of the following areas: Space planning, relational database design and management,
syndicated data, scan data, and household panel data.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or relevant field; commensurate education and experience will be considered.
Experience using data visualization applications (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; data story-telling skill highly desirable.
Proven team-player with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours/days which include early mornings (6:00 a.m. start time), evenings, and overnight if needed.
Able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time using a computer and scanner.
Ability to travel both interisland and to the mainland as needed.
Possess a dependable vehicle, valid Hawaii driver's license, proof of state registration and insurance, and an
acceptable driving record.
Able to add Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits as additional insured/interest on personal auto insurance with minimum
coverages of 100K/300K Bodily Injury (per person/per accident) and 50K property damage.
Lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
